FAQ:
What is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is an experience of vibration produced by various instruments (such as crystal bowls, gong, and chimes) to induce and maintain deep relaxation so the body can heal and return to balance.
What are the benefits of sound baths?
It is a form of healing which reduces anxiety, tension, stress, enhance focus, and most importantly-calms the nervous system. During a sound bath one can experience reduced blood pressure, lower heart rate, and alleviate muscle tension. People often report improved sleep after a sound bath. These benefits have been found through the study of neuro-acoustics (how sound directly influences nervous system function, brainwave activity, and physiology, often used to optimize mental states, reduce stress, or improve sleep). There is incredible science behind the impact of sound.
What to wear to a sound bath?
You should wear comfortable clothing. People often experience reduced body temperatures during their relaxation so consider wearing pants or bring a comfortable long sleeve item with you. Blankets are provided.
How often should I participate in a sound bath?
This depends on your unique experience and needs. Some people participate weekly, others monthly, or as they desire. Regular participation in sound healing helps to regulate your nervous system and maintain your overall wellness.

What happens during a sound bath?
When you arrive, you’ll be invited to choose the perfect spot for yourself. We've taken care of everything, with cozy yoga mats, bolsters, pillows, and blankets set up for your ultimate comfort. Paula guides every session with a trauma-informed approach, meaning your comfort and autonomy are the top priority. She will gently explain each step and offer alternatives, ensuring you always have a choice—whether it's using an eye pillow or needing to step out of the space at any moment. As the sound bath begins, your only task is to simply listen and allow yourself to gently receive the restorative vibrations and peaceful silence. It’s wonderful to know that there is no right or wrong way to experience a sound bath. People often report a variety of unique sensations, and we want you to know that whatever happens for you is perfectly okay. You might experience:
Feeling a sense of heaviness or lightness in your body.
A feeling of transcendence, momentarily moving away from the usual sense of time.
A cooling sensation as your nervous system finds rest.
Floating between thinking and having no thoughts at all.
Returning to memories of places that feel deeply comforting.
Some people even experience an emotional release, which can sometimes bring tearfulness—all of this is welcome. Conversely, you may not experience any of these sensations, or you might simply drift off to sleep. Whatever your journey is, once the session concludes, Paula will gently guide you back into the space, ensuring a safe transition. You’ll be able to move forward with the rest of your day feeling rejuvenated, balanced, and possibly energized.
What should I do after a sound bath?
As you slowly transition, please take your time and gently embrace the deep, calming relaxation you've gained. It is completely normal if you find it difficult to put words to your experience right away. When you feel ready, you might be drawn to process your journey through journaling, sketching, or sharing it with someone. Remember, it is also absolutely okay to keep your experience private and simply enjoy the unique healing that is yours alone. To support your body's continued well-being, please stay hydrated by drinking water or enjoying a warm, comforting beverage.
