Did you know that music helps Dementia patients recall memories and emotions?

This is because music evokes emotions that are linked to memories. Researchers have also found that musical aptitude and appreciation are two of the last remaining abilities in dementia patients. The Alzheimer's Foundation of America researchers  have also found that music can shift mood, manage stress and stimulate positive interactions. Dr. Jane Flinn, a researcher from George Mason University, suggested listening to, "The Sound of Music", "When You Wish Upon a Star (from Pinocchio)" or "Somewhere Over the Rainbow (from The Wizard of Oz)" for those trying to manage dementia.
